You may qualify for sliding scale services (reduced fees) depending on your income and employment status. If you have benefits you will not qualify until benefits run out. Are Social Worker/Psychotherapist services covered by insurance? For those with insurance coverage, please check with your provider as most policies include therapy provided by an MSW/RSW (Social Work), or an RP (Psychotherapist). For those without insurance coverage, or for those who only have coverage for Psychologists for therapy, we can provide a receipt for income tax purposes. Please communicate any concerns with coverage BEFORE booking. We have had great luck with Green Shield and Great West Life if this helps you! It is not a guarantee, but it is more likely you will find coverage if you are with one of these two companies for insurance. Bruce Power employees are covered for almost 100% of our services. You can use your therapist's name or registration # provided on your receipt to confirm membership with their College, by going to https://www.ocswssw.org/members/online-register/ or https://www.crpo.ca
What is the cancellation policy? Your appointment time is reserved just for you. Late cancellations or missed sessions leave an empty space in your counsellor's day that could have been filled by another client who could have attended a session. As such, 24 hours notice is required for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. The first time you provide less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the full $130 rate. For any subsequent cancellations, 100% of the total session rate will be charged. Your first and all "no-shows" will be charged at the full $130 rate. "No Shows" count as any attempt to cancel or reschedule within the hour leading up to the beginning of your scheduled session, or not showing up at all. This is NOT the same as cancelling within 24 hours. Sliding scale fees are NOT honoured when it comes to no-shows or cancellations, as this is a courtesy for your active treatment and requires you to attend to take advantage of this pricing. Cancellations and "no shows" will be charged at full rate even if you have sliding scale rates for your sessions. No future sessions will be booked until payment is received for these missed sessions.

How secure is video counselling? VERY SECURE! In fact, the video platform is secured by the same level of encryption that is used for online banking transactions. How do I make sure my computer is ready? There are many recommendations to enhance the quality of your video counselling sessions, as well to ensure you know how to operate the online platform. Click here to read more on the recommendations for you computer.
Do I have to download any software? No, you don't have to download any software to your computer/mobile phone. All you need is the link that you will be provided upon booking in order to access your session. You can utilize any webcam, as long as you have access to a microphone if using a computer. Your mobile phone will have a camera and microphone already built in.
How do I pay for video counselling? Payment is completed through our online platform where you will have your video session. You will be able to pay with the credit card of your choice, and submit your receipt to your benefits provider for reimbursement. We do not offer direct billing at this time. Online payments are protected and encrypted the same as your online banking systems!
