Hi my name is Tara, a (soon to be) Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a current student Intern with Counselling Bruce County through Yorkville University, where I have just completed my schooling portion of my Masters in Counselling Psychology. I’m a registered member of the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario) and a student member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I have 20 years of experience working with children and youth as a teacher and youth leader both in the KW and Bruce County area. I own a small business in Bruce County but have always been passionate about human psychology and am living my dream of becoming a psychotherapist and counsellor. I’m calling it, “my midlife glow-up”! Who do I work with & What can I help with? I have a passion to work with all people, but love working with adolescents and youth! I am open to working with all ages and stages of life. I understand how hard life can be and am empathetic to the struggles we are all dealing with. I hope to help you on your life journey.
My Therapeutic Approach I am a very approachable person. I’m a good listener and very encouraging. I have a desire to help people overcome their circumstances to become their best selves. I understand how life circumstances can drag us down, but I hope to work together to overcome these circumstances with you! My therapeutic modalities include motivational interviewing and solution based therapy. I look forward to expanding my skills in both these areas and many more!
Training I have previously received my B.A in Education and will soon have my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University!
